Автор: Давненько я не гуляла с ребенком на детской площадке, а тут как-то он меня уговорил. Коля еще и воду в доме отключил, так что делать было нечего :).
Просидела я там на скамеечке пару часов. И вот что необычного я для себя обнаружила. То ли я раньше в другое время приходила, то ли что-то в мире поменялось — с детьми гуляли в основном... папы!
И, причем, не то чтобы с подросшими. С пятилетними чего там гулять-то, сиди себе в i-pad смотри. Так нет же, они с карапузами гуляют. Да еще и не с одним, а сразу с двумя приходят.
И так, я смотрела, шустренько управляются — любая мама позавидует :). Грудничку в люлечке бутылочку держат, другой рукой двухлетку из песка вытаскивают. И все так ловко и складно, что любо-дорого смотреть. Сразу видно, только этим весь день и занимаются :).
Был, правда, и один обычный папашка. Сидел себе на скамейке, пока его полутора-двух летний малыш шатался по всей площадке. Попу этот дяденька соизволил поднять только когда малыш прямиком под качели ринулся, где большой ребенок качался. И то, папочка конечно встал, с криком «Стой! Куда!». Но к качелям не ринулся остановить. В результате карапуз, разумеется, получил ногой в лоб и свалился под эти самые качели.
Не-не, все обошлось благополучно. Папашка ревущее дите достал, взял на ручки, пожалел и прочитал нравоучительную лекцию на тему: «Я же говорил тебе, туда ходить нельзя!» Угу, малыш, конечно же, сразу все осознал :).
Ну а другие папочки все подходили, интересовались здоровьем малыша :).

Looks like there is another version of manliness standards in Canada, doesn't it? The men from Alexandra's article hardly could be exemplary post soviet men excepting the last one. (I don't want to use the «Russian» term)
Of course it's only my point of view. And I don't really know if the pa-mamas were aborigines.
Lords of the playground mentioned in this article could hardly be exemplary to the rest of Canadian dads either. The concept of involved dads is as foreign a concept to Canadians as it is to anyone living in a Post-Soviet country. On the top of that, Canadian dads are still facing playground discrimination and have to stick together to increase their chances of survival.

I wouldn't say I render a man as a family's head obsolete. If both parents are able to save this role for man in any circumstances it is a superior variant I think.
SAHD or not is not crucial. GWD (Gone Work Dad) and children growing without man's attention is not an immaculate case to be candid about it.

Nevertheless it would be great to read an opinion of the best part of humanity
I doubt there is such a thing as peternal instinct. I even dare to question the existence of maternal instinct in women.
But I, too, am happy for the dads living near Alexandra's house who have the balls to make a positive difference in their children's lives despite playground discrimination and in spite of widespread social discrimination against men in today's Canada.
Yes, I meant the surviving instinct too. «The balls».
In a paranoid place like Canada (expecting rotten tomatoes
), where a father can be arrested and strip-searched over his child's innocent sketch or just for kissing his child goodnight, the survival instinct is definitely needed. If the men were better equipped with survival instincts they would have been playing pool and showing off their beer chugging talent in a grown-up setting rather than trying to upset the deep-rooted prejudices in a traditionally female domain. Whatever we (men) do, we're in a catch 22.
